NedBank: The Worst Banking Firm Ever.Stay Away. You were Warned.

Nedbank is the worst bank I have ever came across in my entire 50+ years I've been in this earth

More than 3 weeks ago I app**** for an Amex Credit Card Account then it took them more than 10 days to approve it,why?Because they have been calling numbers that according to them was found in my credit union file in order to verify if i was the one who made the application. That time i don't know whose cellphone numbers those were,I don't remember using those numbers in my life.My big question was why were they calling some numbers I don't know of when they can still call me on the cellphone numbers that are listed on my Nedbank Profile?Anyways I opened a case against that then last week Monday they called me on the numbers listed on my profile and approved my credit card account application.

Which brings me to the main reason why I am writing this review today..

To get you to understand why I app**** for the credit card with Nedbank was that 2 months back I was involved in a car accident that left me with 3rd degree burns all over my body,I'm talking about my face is burnt and all crucial parts like ears,my lower body burnt,my hands badly burnt. From then my health has just been deteriorating.I am peeing in a sachet right now,bed ridden awaiting an operation/surgery.I have been at the hospital since then and my money was slowly drying up due to medical bills. The surgery itself is an extra crucial expense I didn't foresee. So I app**** for Nedbank credit card to assist me with these. On Tuesday last week after having the account approved an agent called me to help me order the knew cards and told me to choose the branch I would like the card delivered to.I adviced him that I need the card delivered to Pavillion Branch..and he even confirmed that the Pavillion branch even has lockers so that may assist in case I cannot fetch the cards myself then I can have someone who is in my trust circle fetch it for me by just sending them locker details (Eventually Nedbank partnered with DSV and so they have lockers placed at their branches where the cards are delivered into the locker and you get an sms with the locker details to fetch it but you have 2 days to do so or it's then delivered inside the branch).

The next day which was Wednesday I made a follow up to see if the cards order was placed and as to how long it will take to receive the cards. To my surprise the cards were not ordered to be delivered at the Pavillion branch as I have asked but were ordered for delivery at the Windermere branch which is very far to where I and secondly doesn't have lockers..Very small branch.

I immediately called them and had the destination changed.Nedbank agent assisting me assured me that he had sent a request to change the destination of the cards. In the evening of the same day I called in just so to verify this and indeed I was told it does show on the system that the destination was changed to Pavillion.Fine..

So given that my operation was scheduled on Saturday last week I was a bit anxious as to when the card will arrive because there was nothing I could do on the Nedbank Money App,I couldn't make any transfers nor could i link my account manually since I was told that I will be able to do so once the cards were delivered..So I thought that maybe the card will be delivered Thursday so when I didn't get any sms or hear anything from Nedbank I called them in the evening of Thursday to check..The agent confirmed the cards were indeed ordered and its with their distribution guys and that it should be delivered by Friday.Fine..but what got to me was when I asked him where exactly were the cards going to be delivered and he said 'Windermere ' branch.

I was very infuriated by this.I have called in 2 times in the last 3 days to have the card destination changed and it was confirmed by 2 agents in different periods and days that it was going to be delivered at my chosen branch which is Pavillion Branch but now it's 3 days later and I'm told that it's going to be delivered to the Windermere branch ?Meaning I'll need to visit the branch in order to have access to it,but how when I'm in this situation? The agent however promised that he will escalate it so that the destination is changed.then he said he did.Later again when I checked I found that the branch was indeed changed to Pavillion.

The next day, which was Friday, the delivery day,I call in early in the morning to check where the card was and if i was getting it that day.I was told that it's in KZN with their distribution center and that it should be making its way to the branch..which branch you ask?Windermere Branch..

I felt like crying and doing something heinous. I asked the agent as to why it was going to Windermere when I have ordered it to go to Pavillion? After running the checks on the system he said that on the other system it shows Windermere branch and then on the other it shows Pavillion branch..He then proceeded to say that maybe they did so in 2 different systems so that should I wanna order another card in the future it goes straight to Pavillion not Windermere..The stupidest answer I've heard so far i confess..I mean why would I ask that the card be delivered to Pavillion so to not only have it delivered to Windermere so that in the future when the card is lost and I wanna replace it its then delivered to Pavillion?Come on guys,i specifically stated that my health isn't good,I'm at the hospital near and around Pavillion so please deliver the cards at the Pavillion so that I can have options of collections since they also mentioned the lockers option then I can get someone in my circle of trust to fetch them for me at the lockers or if I had to visit the branch then I do so nearby though it wasn't in my options due to health.

Anyways the cards were delivered indeed at the Windermere branch and I got an SMS confirming the card was delivered at Windermere branch.I couldn't fetch it,i even asked for an advice from my doctor trying to see if there was anyway possible for me to get out of the hospital to fetch the card so that I can have access to my monies and have the surgery that Saturday, mind you it's already Friday.

The doctor didn't give me a chance at all,he stated that my burns were still sensitive my bones not strong enough for me to walk long distance or seat up straight for more than 10 minutes and that i couldnt leave the dripping machine for over an hour as it was keeping my heart stable from the fumes I sustained in the accident. So if I had to spend one hour outside I would suffer greatly or even lose my lifed. So simply put my body was still not fit enough to stand on its own.

Saturday morning I had to go against my doctor's advice and against my chances of survival to go to Windermere branch, anyways i felt that if i don't collect the card then to me it was all going to be the same as I might still stand to lose my life if I couldn't undergo the operations or surgery.

So I was able to get them to escort me with the ambulance and the portable machine still attached to my body to the Windermere branch. At first they didn't wanna help me but eventually 2 hours later gave me the card.I was relieved but but my health took a knock at it.I fainted then had to be rushed back to the hospital from the branch. Was under for about 6 hours, only regained consciousness later in the evening around 8 PM.Remember that I'm still bandaged everywhere.I was just happy that now I will be able to pay for the surgery even though i had to rebook .Little did I know that I'd again have to be taken for a ride.

I logged in my Nedbank Money and tried to link my account, now that I had the card in hand..sadly the account did not show, went to settings tab and checked under hidden accounts but still couldn't find it,tried to go to the link accounts tab and again it wasn't showing. So I tried to use the card online shopping to see if it works.Went to Amazon and other sides and indeed the card was still working but however the account was not linked in branch so I couldn't make any transfers in the app.Even though they said they linked my account.

On Sunday evening after being attended to by the doctor I wanted to continue the trial of linking the account to my profile, which the branch said they did,but I couldn't find my card, don't know where I might have misplaced it.Since the accident i have been suffering from minor stages of Epilepsy, mind you I didn't have Epilepsy before. So each time I gained consciousness I would surfer memory loss,so I wasn't sure where last I placed the card. After asking for assistance searching for it then I decided to contact nedbank via the chat side, then they adviced me to block the card and order a new one.

Which I did..via the app I blocked the card and I ordered a new one. This was early hours of Monday morning if my memory serves me right.

Tuesday morning around 10 or so I was logging into my money app when the app took longer than usual to load then when it was done loading it asked me to fill in my password but then it gave me an error message saying I have tried more than 3 Times to login so my money app access was locked.I was shocked by this cause I haven't logged in before then so I wasn't sure what it meant by that i had 3 failed attempts..

I went online to check if nedbank was experiencing some system failures and I found that I wasn't the only one having issues with money app and cellphone banking that morning. So I reached out to Nedbank via their chats and was told that Nedbank was experiencing a system failure..all Nedbank systems were down and couldn't be reached..their internet banking and cellphone banking..I then called them and they indeed confirmed that their systems were down and even their agents were having hard time logging into their own sides to help their clients.Fine.

Later on about an hour and 30 minutes or so I tried to login back into my profile but it was still giving me the same issue.I again called in then I was told that my internet banking profile and cellphone banking was blocked so I would need to visit the branch to have it sorted out.I asked why it was blocked and if it would affect my credit card account then they said it was blocked cause I entered incorrect login information so my nedbank ID was blocked ked or suspended. I explained that I never entered any incorrect information but that the issue started during the time nedbank systems were down. They said they couldn't help so I'd need to visit the branch..Gosh,again the branch, how do i visit the branch in my situation? After what I did few days back when I risked my life visiting the branch then having seizures the doctor put me in guarded care unit awaiting surgery so literally beside the health part i couldn't go anywhere outside the hospital.

Anyways they said that the internet and cellphone banking profile being locked won't affect my credit card account as it's still active. This happened on Tuesday the second of November right..funny they said that it was not going to affect my credit card account because..

..on Wednesday the 3rd of M November around 9 AM in the morning I got a phone call from Nedbank ***** Department asking me if I was aware that someone was trying to apply for a new credit card account using my details..that this person just placed in a replacement order.Man...i told the guy that it was me who blocked the credit card and placed a replacement order on the money app cause I misplaced my card and had forgotten where it was so I was adviced by the chat agent to block and replace it.Then the guy just responded saying "Oh okay sir no problem then there shouldn't be any worries." ..However around 12 PM midday I learnt that my account was temporarily locked as there was an investigation going on it.Immediately I called the complaints department but I was told to wait till the investigation is done cause there is nothing that can be done as even going inside the branch won't help.

So now my account was placed on hold and my internet banking and cellphone banking locked. So simply put I didn't have control over the monies for cause they suspected that there was a foul play in my account even though I did confirm that it was "I" who placed in the order and the reason I did it.

So on Thursday the 4th of November around 09:12 I was called by the ***** department and the guy who said that he was calling me to assist with the re-activation of the account so there were some security questions he had to ask me.He asked me questions like what was the last transaction I did on the card and where and what I was buying..Then after giving him satisfactory answers he said that the hold on my account was lifted off and I can continue to use my account freely and i can order in a new card freely now without any issues. He said i should wait 2 to 3 hours before using it.I even asked him the hold on my internet banking was removed and he said that everything was now active and any hold was lifted off.I was kind of relieved and excited as this meant that I will be able to undergo the operation.

Sadly I then I went under (Fainted) for more than 10 hours and was put in a machine for majority of these hours which meant that I couldnt check if indeed the account was re-acticated or if that I can order a new card..Only re-gained consciousness this morning,Friday the 5th.

So as excited as I was I made the phone call to place in an order if that previous one was not fulfilled..Guess what?I was told that because my account was placed on a hold for whatever the situation it went through they cannot help me in making an order for the card so I would have to go to the branch to be able to make a new card order, they the ones who can order it for me plus the branch will be able to re-activate my cellphone banking and internet banking and link my card.

My question exactly is when will that happen when will I ever be able to visit the branch to do all these tedious work just to get access to the my monies I.They verified me,they verified that the cellphone number I'm using is mine, they have my identity documents that have been testified by the police department, they have all verifications methods set up in place to see if I'm the person I say I am but still they want me to visit the branch even though they know of my situation?

Which means Nedbank is only for the people who are physically healthy...If you experiencing any ailments, illnesses, diseases,if you have been in an accident of any sort and are in need of assistance just know that Nedbank is not For you.Seek help in a different bank.

I used to bank with one of top 2 Banks in South Africa and I have never experienced such a pathetic and unprofessional service ever.I don't know how many times I called their support and complaints department nor how many cases I have opened against them with their own department and only thing I get is that they are investigating or that they will escalate it to the seniors or whatever.Till when?I need the money now?Why they keep running around? If the account was really activated again and the investigation is indeed completed regarding the ***** thingy why can't they prioritize my issue since it's evident that it's an emergency.

I have wasted now 1 month+ of my life dealing with this and I am even worried that if I apply for another credit card with another bank I may be declined since I've just been approved at Nedbank,I'm sure it will even affect my credit score. They really literally destroying my life and enjoying it.

Yet they say they "Don't you want the bank that takes your money or one that takes you seriously "..That's ironic to me and even sarcastic given that they don't take my matter seriously at all. They just after monies cause i bet when it comes to debiting my bank account they won't even blink an eye or miss it or let alone do all these stupid verifications they doing. When it comes ti taking monies they are fast.

Guys Stat Away From Nedbank.Ive Warned You.
