Nedbank The Grove took R2000 from me

I sometimes put money in my MMI account for emergencies. I did it on the last two weeks of March 2017 at Nedbank Silverlakes.
I went to the second teller and gave her R2000 cash and said I wanted in my MMI account and not my cheque account as that account is not working
She asked for my Nedbank card and my Id. She gave me my deposit receipt. I don’t know where I placed it.
On 21/04/2017 I needed my emergency funds, the teller informed me that no such deposits was made into my accounts, and I need to return to Silverlakes; which I did. I tried to assist the bank with dates that I was in the Silverlakes area. They then informed me that they are waiting for the Branch manager to return on the 08/05/2017 to assist in the investigation. I haven’t received any feedback since she returned/
There surely must be security cameras and other protocol to prevent and assist in incidents like this, surely Nedbank cannot just rely on a small receipt slip from a teller? Cant believe a bank can just take your money
