Nedbank seems to not care about client discomfort or inconvenience

I am extremely disappointed in your customer care. I rep**** to Madeleine Ackerman’s email that I will come in to the branch on 20 May at 12h00 but she was not there and the banker looked at me like I was a space alien when I explained about everything. They told me they could open a new account for me and I was told to wait to transfer my Sanlam policy to the new account before closing the old one. This seemed like extra trouble for me to come back in again just to close the account but I was assured that the banker would assist me again. Madeleine Ackerman phoned me at 13h43 to say that she was unavailable and I told her I opened a new account anyway. This made me wonder if she wanted me to wait for her in the bank from 12h00. When I went back to the branch again on 24 May to close the account, the same banker told me to go queue at Enquiries. I waited there for a very long time before I was assisted and the waiting and standing took almost an hour. I was very tired, sore and stiff from standing there at the counter. I suffer from chronic arthritis, especially in my feet, I have pain and stiffness and I get tired easily and therefore I am also a disability disk holder. The teller took so long to close the account and he had to leave to go to the bankers twice and phone to do the transaction. So why did your bankers not assist me in the first place? Then he expected me to sign a whole document/contract about Self-service banking, which I did not ask for! I could not read and concentrate on the documentation, I had too much pain from waiting and I was too tired by then, so I refused to sign it. Your bank seems to not care about client discomfort or inconvenience. I found out that the banker created a profile for me with two bank accounts! I don’t want this! I am a pensioner and I don’t want two accounts! Furthermore, I don’t know what documentation the teller wanted me to sign and what the internal transfer of 11cents was for. I still had R8.98 balance left in the account before I closed it! And I also had to ask for the bank statements that Nedbank did not send by post! The last statement I received was from 25 February 2016 to 29 February 2016 (however, monthly bank fees were subtracted in the meantime even when your bank did not provide me with a banking service, such as monthly statements). Please note that the bank fees related to closing this account and the internal transfer of 11CENTS into my new bank account was NOT DISCUSSED with me and if there are fees I will take the matter to the ombudsman for banking services. When my daughter closed her account with Nedbank because she was fed-up with your poor services, the teller paid out her balance in cash. I want answers to all this paperwork and transactions I did not ask for and the contract they wanted me to sign.
