Nedbank: Rude, uninformed and happy to give you attitude instead of decent service

From: Kaveek Jimmy <***> Date: Fri, Feb 10, 2023 at 12:22 PM Subject: Fwd: Retrenched - *** To: <***>

Good Day

I am currently receiving below standard service from Nedbank. I have been getting calls from the home loan department. I always pick up the calls but most of the time your agents will hear me pick up and then drop the call and never bother to call back. The few times I do chat to an agent, I explain that I am unemployed and will resume payment as soon as possible. This is followed by, can we debit your account now, which I agree to.

Last week I got a call to state I was listed as a bad payer on the ITC. I really do not understand how and why Nedbank would do this when I informed you in time that I lost my job. I asked to invoke my bond protection policy and each time you wanted to debit, the money was there till this past month and now this month. Not to mention the nonchalant attitude from the agent who called me last week to tell me it looks like I have assistance to pay the bond so I should. When I asked him how he knows who is helping me to pay the bond, he assumes I made payment last few months because "someone" helps me pay. I am a sole breadwinner @ home. Someone who doesn't understand the stress of that situation and moreso the stress of losing one's job while having this commitment hanging over your side, would never be able to empathise, he joked about it. And then when I asked to get the details emailed to me, he said they don't have access to emails and it's simple so I must just listen and remember the details. I am sure his department must be using smoke signals or Morse code to communicate.

Nonetheless, the attitude truly sucks. When I told him the calls are always cut and nobody bothers to call back, he blames it on load shedding. Shem, I'm sure Nedbank must be stopping all business during load shedding.

Please send me via email, the options I have with the bond protection, the amount overdue for the months I missed payment and the way forward.

Regards, Mr Jimmy ***

I've been trying to get your attention the moment I knew I was getting retrenched, but does Nedbank give a hoot? Obviously not:
