Nedbank refusing to provide settlement letter and statement

I have a credit card with Nedbank, since 2022 i have been paying it monthly. they never send me any statement. i stopped paying march 2025 and their legal team called me and told me that they will make sure that i will never get credit again for the next 5 years until i make arrangement. they sent me an sms to get a discount if i settle the account but when i call to get the settlement letter as per the sms which is valid till 31 October they say i must first make a monthly arrangement to pay the account before i get the settlement letter. i told them that i will not make any arrangement until they give me the statement that reflect the payment made. they have blocked me every where and they are the only debt that i have, all my other debt have been paid in full. What can i do to get the settlement letter as per the sms without making any monthly payment arrangement or to get the statement from 2022 to march 2025 that will reflect the amount paid. I went to the branch they said the account has been handed over when i call or email their legal team they said they are waiting for Nedbank to send them the statement.

I received an SMS from Nedbank offering a discounted settlement on my credit card account. I was ready to make payment and requested a formal settlement letter — which is a standard and reasonable request.

Instead of providing the letter, I was sent back and forth between the bank and their Legal Department, with neither taking responsibility. Now, I'm being told I must pay an admin fee to make an arrangement, yet no clear breakdown or explanation has been provided. Up to today, I have also never received a proper statement on this account.

I am fully prepared to settle, but I will not make any payment without a formal settlement letter confirming the offer, total amount due, and that the account will be closed once paid.

Nedbank’s handling of this matter is unprofessional, and I’m disappointed at how difficult they’ve made it for me to simply pay and close this account.
