Nedbank Reckless lending to the elderly.

My late father took a Home Loan from Nedbank in 2005 at the age of 61 years. Nedbank provided him with a 19 year loan. Yes nineteen years. He passed away in November 2018 at the age of 73.

When I informed the bank of his passing I was first told there was no insurance or policy to cover the outstanding amount on the loan.

I questioned Nedbank on how this is possible and then was told, that a Life insurance policy was seeded to Nedbank.

Nedbank now is refusing to give me any information on this policy. Not whom the policy was with , the amount the policy number NOTHING .

Surely my late father did not put his hand on his hart and promised to do so, a policy that gets seeded makes the bank the beneficiary. And the value of the policy must be enough to Cover the loan.

6 Months later and Nedbank still cant provide me with any of the details of this policy. I also would really like to know how this Home Loan was registered without all these details. Surely registration could not have taken place with all these details being 100%?

Please dont refer me to Deceased Estates, they dont have access to policy details. Cheslin Constance "Client Service manager" is also useless. He was the first person to tell me a Life Insurance Policy was Seeded yet cant give me any information about this policy. Gameeda Fakier just also echoed everything Cheslin said and cant also provide me with any of the details.

The banking Ombudsman has also been involved and that case closed. The Ombudsman said the bank followed the correct procedures . BUT COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT OF THE "MISSING POLICY"

The next step off course now is to open a case of ***** against Nedbank , seeing that my late fathers policy disappeared.
