Nedbank payment holiday ripoff
In April 2020 we received a message from Nedbank offering us a payment holiday during covid...I had a question and sent an email regarding the option we were interested in on the 14th April 2020 On the 18th April 2020 at 9..33am we recieved the following email from an agent advising me the following option we selected. Which was a 50% bond payment for 3 months and this will result in my bond term to be extended only... All emails available for proof.
On the 20th April 2020 I respond at 10.20 am with the information needed and the option selected... Since this last email above no feedback or any other correspondence was received beside seeing that out debit order payment has been reduced by 50% and an sms confirming this amount.
A few months ago after downloading the money app and linking home loan account I noticed some discrepancies regarding my terms left of bond payments... Upon investigating I've noticed that my bond only started in 2020 instead of 2015. According now to Nedbank the payment holiday option we selected recalculate my enite bond from scratch 260 months all over. So I lost an entire 5 years worth of payments for a 3 month 50% payment holiday to my surprise. Mind you this is not stipulated anywhere in the emails abive offering the payment holiday service except for a LOAN TERM Extention only.
I was told about a letter THAT I never received in the 1st place regarding the terms being recalculate from 260 months. If I did I would have never agreed because it's as clear as day light *******.
Today only I received and had sight of this above mentioned letter but no audit trail can be found, it's not my email address as it has discrepancies and the physical address on this letter is not my physical address either.
Nedbank must have have ********** so many people with this payment holiday, taking advantage of the already fragile situation during a global pendemic. They were not transparent and had hidden T&C's because they did not communicate this with their clients. This I extremely unexceptable and I received no communication regarding these changes. No form letters, sms or even an email were sent communicating this drastic changes on my bond account.
I have spoken to numerous persons at Nedbank from the Restructuring departments that cannot assist me to Collections that dealt with this during the covid pendemic. The last person I spoke to a home loan service specialist that cannot help me either. I'm just being told about a "letter" they found. I urgently need assistance and need this to be rectified asap.
