Nedbank Paid Up Letter!!!

After phoning a thousand people ( cause everyone you phone, give you another number to phone, then that person gives you another number to phone) to get hold of a settlement letter for my personal loan, I finally got it. The account was by the legal department and they transferred it to Brooks&Luyt. Brooks and Luyt gave me the settlement letter on which the amount was that I needed to pay and it was valid till the 19th of August. Ipaid the settlement amount they gave me on the 16th and emailed the proof of payment, plus confirmed that they did receive the payment and they did. They also said they would close the account and ask the bank for a paid up letter. I phoned the bank today for the paid up letter and the lady said there is still a R6000 outstanding they cant close the account cause the money was transferred to them by the attorneys on the 20th. What does that have to do with me? I made an immediate payment to the bank account number that was given to me on the 16th, 3 days before the due date. Now I must phone again alot of numbers and being send too and fro. This is really very bad service. I just want my paid up letter that is due to me.
