Nedbank Oudtshoorn

On the 7th of October 2024 I went into the Oudtshoorn Branch to close my account. The service at the bank was atrocious, I was sent from one person to another, eventually being told that I needed a number to stand in the queue. I withdrew all the money in my account from the ATM leaving a balance of R 28.50. The lady who assisted me said I needed to withdraw the balance at Shoprite or Checkers. My daughter who was with me had to run and withdraw the money. The lady then cut my card up and I was told that the account is closed and I will receive a confirmation sms from the bank. Since then, I have received messages from the bank warning me that the balance is low and that I will be liable for service and maintenance fees. I called the call center and they informed me that the account is not closed. I am 87 years old and live 72 kms from Oudtshoorn.
