Nedbank *****, *****, *****. No Resolution or Response more than 3 months later
***** on Credit Card not Resolved after 13 weeks. An amount of R87110 was transferred from my Credit card by EFT to a Current Account opened *****ulently in my name on 10 November 2026. I found out about it on receipt of my monthly account on 2 December 2025. I advised the Nedbank ***** dept. immediately and sent all the documentation they asked for on 3 December. I was given the reference GFCFS216584 and told by Genevieve Potgieter that it would take 6 to 9 weeks to resolve, and the ***** dept would not be contacting me. In fact the only Nedbank contacts were 2 phone calls from the collections dept. I explained the situation and they did not pursue it. On 26 February, 12 weeks later, I wrote asking for a progress report. It was allocated to a Client Services Manager, Cheslyn de Klerk on Friday 27 February 2026 with an additional reference of CCM***. On Monday 2 March, 2026, the first Final Demand for the "overdue installments" was received. I forwarded a copy to Cheslyn, no response. On Wednesday I phoned him and explained everything again. He said that there was a second reference on this case, 211012, and it had been settled for R56000. He said he would "apply his mind" to getting my matter resolved. That was the last that I heard from him. His phone just rings and he does not answer emails. Yesterday I received a final Letter of Demand for R92415.90 and threats to report me to Credit Bureaux. I also forwarded it to Cheslyn and sent an email to Visa Collections . This morning I received a call from Yanni or Yassi from collections asking for payment. There is not even a ***** reference on my account. The AI juggernaut rolls on towards judgement being taken against me, which I would defend, but I am 80 years old and I do not need this stress in my life. I have had the credit card for more than 30 years and never missed a payment. I have 3 questions for Nedbank 1. How does a *****ulent account get opened when they require ID, FICA and biometrics? 2. How would the specific amount of R87110 be ****** without a staff member of Nedbank being involved? 3. How could it be "resolved" on another reference?
