Nedbank midrand boulders mall

I app**** for a credit card online and the agent contacted meon the day.We did the normal procedure about my personal details and other information that he needed. Then he asked me which nedbank can i collect the card and i said Midrand boulders is perfect as its closer to where i work.

After two weeks plus few days i got the sms saying I should go to Midrand nedbank to collect the card.I went there gave them my utility statement and my ID .there comes the part that i did not like which is the contract that i should sign should also have my wife`s signature , which to me it does not make sense to make my wife to sign for something that she not going to pay and its not a joint credit card. i decided to leave the bank and i called the credit card department and asked them whats happening with nedbank, they were also suprised with what i said.

The following day i went back and called the credit card department inside the bank as per instruction from the agent i spoke to.She asked me to called the manager or someone who works there which i did ,the agent was transfered to the manager. The manager came to me and said its the company procedure to sign the contract with your wife ,both of us must be at the bank to sign. I asked the manager if i should call my wife from Limpopo to sign and go bank to limpopo. she said its the procedure.

I called the credit department to cancel the credit as i can not do what the bank manager said.20 minutes after i have left the bank the mnager called and said she can make a plan for me to get the card but i rejected and gave her the reference no to say i have cancelled the card.

My question is that why did she make a plan before telling me about the procedure. Im currently under custom marriage and not even registered at home affairs that I am married.
