Nedbank MFC nightmare!

July 2022 I received my statement from MFC regarding the balance of my vehicle finance. Based on the statement I calculated according to what I pay per month and based on that my last car payment would be September 2023.

When I called MFC two months ago to enquire about my balance to confirm that I am in fact making my last payment in September, to my surprise I was advised that my last payment would be in November 2023!!!

I was promised a call back by the agent and to date no call was received. I then got in contact with Dumisani Nyembe who was responsible for sending my statements and when I enquired by him why there are now two additional months added he advised me this was due to VAT. I was not happy with this response as the VAT was never added to my initial statement. So where is this additional payments now coming from?

I asked to speak to his manager as I am refusing to pay the additional installments added and don’t believe that VAT is the explanation for it. I was then referred to the manager Philani Ndaba who I emailed thrice over the last 2 months and up until today I have still not received feedback or answers from any one of them and today was my last payment.

I am refusing to pay the additional money as there is no proof or evidence on where this comes from and no one seems to be bothered about my query. After 8 years I would like to put MFC behind my back as it has been a horrible journey and I would not recommend vehicle finance to anyone from MFC.

How do you make up additional amounts and just add that to someone’s balance??? I have a life and have been planning to put this behind me!
