Nedbank. Making things happen. FOR *****STERS
This is a review of Nedbank’s shockingly flawed and alarmingly inefficient ***** prevention measures. I am currently a STD Bank customer but about 6 months ago I received a Debicheck request from Nedbank Card Division. I subsequently called STD Bank to query this. They confirmed the request was indeed from Nedbank Card Division. My next call was to Nedbank ***** Division. I made them aware of the *****ulent account that had been opened in my name & requested further details. They issued me with a reference number & requested I follow certain steps i.e. SAPS affidavit & five specimen signatures. Within a matter of hours I had met their requirements, walked into a Nedbank branch & had emailed the details to their ***** department.
Six months later, (yes, 6 months)& there has been zero feedback or contact from Nedbank. This is despite having made contact with them on 3 occasions since then & having resorted to logging a complaint via their less specialised Customer Complaints line. Not to any great surprise though I receive calls from their Collections department regarding an outstanding amount on my *****ulent card & requesting prompt payment.
In the initial contact with Nedbank I did get some shocking details as to how this has happened. At no point in the process does the *****ster have to engage directly with a Nedbank employee. Not when forms are completed, not when a card is issued, not when a credit application is done, not even when a credit card is issued. Sounds crazy … right. To add insult to injury I am self employed and now carrying multiple adverse records on my credit profile as a result of Nedbank’s numerous failures and disregard for banking safety. If I am lucky enough to get credit when needed, my credit risk profile will penalize me with credit at a higher interest rate. Thank you Nedbank for being so utterly useless, ***********, & reckless in your own practices.
The complaint process as advertised by Nedbank is contact within 24 hours by a Complaints Manager & resolution may take up to 21 days. It has been well in excess of the 21 days and I have yet to even hear from the complaints manager.
