Nedbank lying to their clients

I am so disappointed in how Nedbank Insurance have treated us, loyal insurance payers for over 14 years. You would hope that ,after paying your premiums diligently for so many years , when you actually claim and need your insurance to honour their part of the agreement , that they would. I am appalled at the gaul of Nedbank Insurance who recently sent us notification of renewal of policy number *** after they have reneged on their side of the agreement. What are we paying insurance for? We are just throwing our hard-earned cash away and Nedbank Insurance is happy to increase the premium and just continue to receive free money from unsuspecting customers like us.

I wish to provide a bit of background for the reason for this email.

We recently submitted a Storm damage /wind claim after the recent storms, where the excess is about R1000 with claim number C***. We naively thought that Nedbank Insurance would come to our aid , but alas another one of those big companies who needs not be accountable to anyone for misrepresenting and underdelivering to their loyal clients. It is just how the cookie crumbles.

We have been contributing to our homeowners insurance at Nedbank since 2010 and have not reneged on our side of the agreement with Nedbank for more than 14 years and hence we have been hoping and expecting that they would not disappoint from their side of the agreement. But as it stands now and have been communicated to us is that they do not have to honour their side of the agreement. I know that if we would neglect to honour our side of the agreement there would be dire consequences, but I would hope to see that if a big financial institution that needs not explain their reasons for their bad practices and unfair rules to their loyal clients should at least be expected to honour an agreement and not just flippantly and dismissively reject a loyal client's advances to foster good relationships and business practices.

My question / query is that why does Nedbank take our money for more than 14 years and when we claim for a wall that has been destroyed, not by our own doing, but by the violent winds that occurred recently, and they just reject the claim on the basis of "the wall not being built correctly"?. I was just wondering about one or two things about this unfair assessment. The first one is why are we rejected/punished when we did not build the wall either correctly or incorrectly? Secondly, would normal/fair practice not dictate that there would be this kind of assessment of building inspection done by the bank's assessors before granting a 20/30 bond agreement with an unsuspecting client. It does reek of some foul practices that should somehow be at least considered and investigated.

I am really shocked at how Nedbank has been happy to take our money happily for over 14 years and has never once informed us that "the walls were built incorrectly' in the event that we would want to claim for the wall. To find out after more than 14 years of loyally paying for services to be rendered by someone and that someone just turn their back on you when you need them is just not Ubuntu. This unfair practice by Nedbank is forcing us to take our business elsewhere. By their own doing they look to tarnish their reputation.
