Nedbank is as *********** as any other of the 4 big banks!
Opened a Nedbank business account on Friday 18 October 2019. Pretty much impressed how we were received, friendly, helpful but not giving us the comfort feeling of knowing what they were doing....unfortunately. So the expectations of something going wrong was not a wrong feeling at all. IT TOOK 4 HOURS, YES FOUR HOURS to set up the account. We left with internet banking working (and to keep the story short let me knot mention the send to pillar to post procedure). Today, Wednesday the account is still not working. I cannot log-in I can not do anything, did not even get a notification funds came in. Phoned the personal banker on the cell as the branch did not pick up the phone (an add was repeating at 09h50, five minutes after the branch opens)...off sick...went to the branch, the branch manager not available (of course, am not important enough), the minion 'helping' did not even know the personal banker is not in as the door is closed, so plan B of getting helped at the branch did not work either. The personal banker says it is an IT problem, the branch denies that while I know for sure it is the IT issue that is causing the problems. Frankly said, there are no competent CMA compliant bank in this banana republic as it has proven before with FNB having my account frozen for 6 months from the day I opened one due to 'IT issues'. Currently am banking with Bidvest Bank, reason for leaving not CMA compliant which they never told me four years ago plus having constant .... there we go again...IT issues. Conclusion, South African banks are still in the middle ages compared to European banks AND they don't employ competent IT people otherwise all these problems would not occur. Now I have again lodges a complaint to the Ombudsman as I have no other choice than close my account and go to another bank. Again a claim to get my money back, costs and damages....been there before!
