Nedbank Insure call felt like a phishing attack and agent hung up on me.

I received a call from a Nedbank agent noting that I needed to forward them an a copy of my insurance schedule for one of my properties given that I'm externally insured. He rattled off an email address and asked me to send to send it there. I responded by asking him to please email me using the email address they had on file. He recited an email address which was not mine at all.

At this point I became suspicious of an phishing attach and informed him that this is not my email address and they have the correct one on file as I receive email statements for the property in question. He then advised me that this was not the Home Loans department, but the Insurance department. I reminded him that he's phoning to verify insured details of a property because I have a home loan, and he not only had my name details, but also details of the property in question. My correct contact details should be within reach.

After some further discussion, he eventually responded that he'd phone the Home Loans department to get my email address and then hung up on me while I was busy talking.

It looks like this was a legitimate call from a Nedbank number, but (a) he was rude, (b) I'd expect him to have correct contact details given that they use them to contact me (c) there's no real way for me to distinguish this from a phishing attack.

Poor form Nedbank, incredibly disappointed - please don't phone me with calls like this in the future. My insurance schedule contains many of my personal details, details of my residence and details of my vehicle - I'm going to to send this information to anyone who cannot demonstrate that they have access to my client record where I have an established business relationship as that's the only way I have to attempt to authenticate that this is a valid call.
