Nedbank Insurance (Is the worst l would be worried if l had one)
On Monday, November 13th, soon after 6 p.m., a storm unexpectedly arrived, causing floods and property damage. This unexpected hailstorm ********** several of my roofing sheets and nearly blew them away owing to the strong winds. Water poured through the ceiling boards, filling our master bedroom, two bedrooms below, and our dining area.
I lodged my claim with Nedbank on the 14th at 8am, and I was assured that a claim would be registered and that my claims agent, Gugu, would phone me that morning. I waited for her and, realizing that the call would never come, I called my claims representative, who never returned my calls. I, on the other hand, continued to attempt without success. I called the contact center and was told that she was the only person who could help me with my claim and that she needed to call me.
I eventually reached her shortly after 4 p.m., and she claimed it was too late for her to send her assessor, but she promised to contact me the next morning. On November 15th, I waited for her till 3 p.m. and attempted to phone Gugu. After an hour of trying, I finally succeeded to reach her. However, the call quality was poor, so I requested that she call me back. After waiting 10 minutes and seeing that she did not call, I called her back, and she picked up the phone and promised to call me back.
She did return my phone call and informed me that she had assigned two assessors, one electrical and one construction. However, both guys stated they couldn't come because it was already late, so I made plans for the next day with them.
The appointments were scheduled for 3 p.m. on November 16th, but the electrical assessor called to say he was running late and arrived at 3:45 to check what he wanted to check before leaving. I waited for the other assessor and then called Gugu, who immediately answered and gave me the guy's phone number. When I called the construction assessor, he had forgotten about coming to my house to do the assessment. He arrived at 17:45 and with his girlfriend, promised to send the report to Gugu the next day.
The next morning, after several attempts, I called Gugu and informed her that the two guys had arrived and asked if she had received the reports. I explained to Gugu that air and dust were entering through the roofing sheets that had been blown open by the storm, causing discomfort for my family and that we were concerned that if it rained, water would enter the house through the roofing sheets.
By December 12, she had not provided any updates, and despite my best efforts, I had been unable to reach her by phone. There was a storm, on the night of the 11th, and the rainwater flooded into every bedroom. My ceiling boards are now more damaged, and I've hired a private builder to fix the roofing sheets and begin waterproofing. All I ask is that they pay me so that I can repair my roof, as I pay them every month for just cause things like this happen.
I immediately filed a complaint with Nedbank's complaints department, who never asked me much and returned me a report on the 21st indicating everything was followed by the book. I must be patient. After attempting to contact Nedbank, I received a rejection letter stating that my timber was bad and that is why I had damage. I challenged them to come and prove the defective timber because no one entered my ceiling. Nobody has gotten back to me since.
Has a faithful client whom I was banking with Nebank, car and house were funded by them. I have chosen to cancel everything, I have moved my bond-building insurance to another firm and requested Nedbank to close my accounts, but I am being told stories every day, personal banker is Nowhere to be found. To me, this is the worst bank to conduct business with. They don't care about you, especially if you're black. Sadly, l have spoken to beautiful souls in other departments. But I would never recommend anyone to have insurance with them. worst worst bank.
