Nedbank Insurance Is Failing Me and Endangering My Family
I am beyond disappointed and devastated by how Nedbank Insurance has handled my claim for a damaged roof, ceiling leaks, and dangerous electrical exposure at my property.
I’ve been living in this house for just over 2 years. I purchased it in good faith — paying for home insurance through Nedbank every month without fail — expecting that if something serious went wrong, I would be protected. Well, now something very serious has gone wrong:
The roof has numerous leaks, causing mould to spread across my ceilings and into the bedrooms.
The electrical wiring is now being affected, putting me and my family — including my 8-month-old baby — at serious risk of fire or electrocution.
I do not have the funds for private inspections — and I shouldn’t have to. That’s exactly why I pay Nedbank insurance: to investigate and assist when things go wrong.
Despite the clear danger, and even after they sent their own assessor, Nedbank Insurance has outright refused to help. Their message is clear: “Sort it out yourself.” How is this acceptable?
So now I sit in a house that’s:
Structurally failing,
Electrically unsafe,
And actively putting my child’s health at risk — while Nedbank continues to debit my account for coverage they refuse to honour.
Nedbank, your refusal to act shows gross negligence and complete disregard for your customer’s wellbeing. You’re not just failing me — you’re failing your duty of care and ruining your own name in the process.
You’re not a partner. You’re an opportunist. And people need to know.
