Nedbank Insurance, Complaints Resolution Officer on ***
Good Day, Nedbank Insurance, Complaints Resolution Officer on ***
We are writing this mail in response to the attached rejection letter.
This decision has come as a surprise to us for the reasons below.
1. After various calls, and requests for an accessor from Nedbank was requested to come and do an inspection.
Nedbanks' response was that they did not have anyone available, and did not know when they would have anyone available to come through, we would need to sort this out ourselves.
We have lived in this home since 2004 and have at all times maintained, repaired, and upgraded all the property namely. 1. Garage Door - Repairs & maintenance, replaced the motor, varnishing sanding, and upkeep of such. 2. Wooden window frames - Repair, maintenance, varnishing, sanding, and upkeep of such. 3. Wooden Sliding Door: Varnished every year, ruined and stuck because of swelling of the wood from the rain - to protect from more damage we covered the patio with the catch. - all at our own expense with no assistance of claims from Nedbank -In retrospect, we should have rather claimed. 4. Laminated flooring: Front Door, Wooden Sliding Door: Swelling of laminate flooring from the rain, This too we replace at our own expense, No claim was ever made. 5. Inside Walls: Painted, sugar-soaped repair of any chips on the walls from little bums in moving furniture around in the home and the helper when we had one not being careful to and bumping the vacuum cleaner on the walls and furniture that may have accrued. 6. Outside of the home has been tiled, when we moved in had sand outside the back kitchen door and the side of the house, it is now all tiled and has water outlets on the bottom perimeter of the boundary wall so that the water does not accumulate and damage boundary wall. 7. Thatching - Maintained and replaced, re-strung grass, and sealed skylights, to avoid rainwater leakage.
With all of the above-mentioned improvements made to the property since we have been living in it in 2004 to date we have not claimed.
It seems to me that when one is truthful and has been paying insurance for the past 20 years, the Banking and insurance institutions seem to find every excuse under the sun not to assist and pay what is rightfully due, for repairs and upkeep to the home.
Disappointing, on the claims mail they stipulate that one has 90 days to write to them and contact them with regards to the claim
The response was sent within 3 weeks of receiving their communication.
