Nedbank Horror Insurance
I have a building insurance with Nedbank & recently had a fault solar geyser which was not heating up. I logged a claim & Nedbank sent a plumbing company named "Joy Of Plumbing" & an assessment was conducted by the plumbing company. Findings of the assessment was that the thermostat & geyser element are faulty & must be replaced & therefore excess fee of R500 will apply & I paid as per instruction. However after after the thermostat & geyser were replaced the geyser was still not heating up. I then contacted Nedbank telling them issue still persists & they sent an electrical company to assess & findings was that mixing valve is faulty. To my surprise "Joy Of Plumbing" did not pick this up meaning an incomplete assessment was done & as home owner I cannot be held liable for half baked jobs done by the plumbing company.
I reached to the plumbing company hoping for a resolution & I was told I need to log another claim with Nedbank which I blatantly refused. Nedbank was supposed to facilitate the entire process & engage the plumbing company to ensure my case is resolved however Nedbank failed dismally since I made my own follow ups. What's annoying is I've never skipped my insurance ever but now that I have an issue Nedbank is dragging their feet & worse they're reactive instead of being proactive.
It's winter now, my family have cold baths which is totally unacceptable for a service that I am paying for religiously. All is asking for is hot water on my geyser, I mean is that too much to ask ? I don't think so. All I want is my geyser to fixed with hot water & that's it.
