Nedbank home loan is ***********

Im a Nedbank Private Banking client, if that even means anything. I app**** and was approved for a home loan with Nedbank and im working abroad. This was in November 2024. I was then contacted by 2 different lawyers, one would be doing the property transfer and the other would be doing the bond registration. Everything went well until Nedbank wanted additional documents. First they refused to accept documents certified at my local post office and demanded that I go to the South African Embassy to have them notarised. * The South African Embassy works on appointments only and it's always fully booked but slots to come available at time. We have to check every morning. When I did the application, they accepted the same documents, certified in a post office. I don't understand why they wouldn't this time or even why they want the same documents again. Also having these documents couriered from abroad is not cheap. They received and accepted the documents but not they are saying they want a certified copy (Certified at the Embassy) of my work permit/visa. Now I have to go through the process of looking for a slot at the SA Embassy and when one does become available, I might have to cancel my shift at work to attend and pay thousands to get the documents couriered to SA again. This will be the 3rd time having time and money. Even the first time I went to the Embassy, the person that was helping me did say they weren't happy with the documents I brought, that I was going to come back, and that Nedbank is worst bank they've dealt with and that they haven't a clue of what they're doing in terms of the law.

I'm closing all my accounts with Nedbank as soon as I find a reputable bank.
