Nedbank Greenstone Mall/Personals Loans Department + Call Centre

I have been a loyal client of Nebank for almost 10 years, I have loans, a Credit Card and even did my vehicle Finance through them over the past 10 years. It is very dissapointing to know that although I am a loyal client and ensure all payments are done on time, this carries absolutley no weight with regards to this Banking instution.

On 13/02/2017 I had app**** for a " reload" as they call it on my current exisitng loans with Nedbank.I signed the paperwork and was assured by Mr Forster Ndlovu (Banking consultant) at Nedbank Greenstone that all was in order, they just needed to confirm employment and the money should be in my account within 24 - 48hrs which I was happy to wait for as I wolud only require funds just before month end as I had to pay for my registraion fees for my studies this semester.

Shockingly i recieved an sms on 14/02/2014 informing me that my loan application had been declined.

I had made numerous calls to Mr Ndlovu and had been informed repeatedly he was either busy or just stepped out and would return my call as soon as he is back. I AM STILL WAITING FOR HIM TO RETURN MY CALL !!!

I then proceeded to call the Nedbank call centre and had been informed that my loan had been declined due to them not seeing a salary going into my account for December. I had informed them that the reason there was no salary for December was due to me changing Jobs, I had ended work at 1 company on 31/11/2017 and had started a my new company on 16/01/2017. At first I was told by the consultant i was speaking to over the phone, there was nothing that she could do, then I had been transfered through to multiple departments explaining my situtation numerous times until I finally got to Thembeka ( I assume she was from either the personal Loans or Customer services dept) who finally assisted me and informed me she will escalate this to her Manager.

She informed me her manager will call me back within 10 minutes and 30 minutes later still no call from her or her manager, so I called back and again had to go through numerous connsultants explaining my situation until I had got through to her manager Mr Oduetse Ditire, he already had a brief understaing of my situtaion and informed me he will escalate further and provide feedback which he did however my loan still remained declined.

I had been informed that due to " business principle" there was nothing that they could do to appeal my application, this I find extremely disturbing as I have had a perfect credit history with Nedbank and due to there not been a salary deposit refelecting on my account for December I had been declined. Although there had not physically been a salary deposited in my account for December there was more than sufficient funds available for debits to go off and all payments due had been met.

I understand that all Corporate Institutions have specific Business Practices to adhere by, I myself work for a corporate company with its own set of rules and regulations that I need to follow as well, however there are procedures put in place for such circumstances like mine ( i.e an appeal).

I do not believe my application was delt with in a proper manner, I did not need the money to go on an expensive holiday or to buy fancy items for my house, I need this money to pay for my studies!!! If my bank cannot provide me with financial assistance. What does a person now do? Go to a loan shark? Or try and make a paln and sell their belongings????

I was also told that I will have to produce 3 months payslips in order to apply again, which once again still does not assist me in the least!!! I have spent the last week looking at other options to aquire funds including a loan Shark with ridiculous interest rates and payment terms, fortunately I do value my life and opted not to deal with a Loan Shar****

However I now have to waste the next 6 months and only apply for my Studies next semester!!! It is so dissappointing to know that loyal clients hold no value to Nedban****
