Nedbank ***** Negligence

Nedbank Negligence

Money was transferred from my FNB account to a ********** Nedbank account.

It was R250 000 for a deposit for a flat my wife and i had just purchased. when we transferred the money we used the Attorneys full name, but the account number was that of a *********.

My questions to Nedbank is as follows:

1. Why if the name of accounts did not match was the money not reversed to FNB???

2. Why if the name of account did not match was the money not frozen and investigated before allowing a brand new account at Nedbank to withdraw the funds of R250 000 out in cash and then close the account?

3. There needs to be some sort of alarming system within the bank, to pick up on transfers like this, when accounts that don't usually get large amounts transferred into.

How did we end up like this a young couple who loaned R300 000 for a deposit and fees to purchase there first home, now sitting with nothing, and having to pay back a loan while i have to now deliver the terrible news to my pregnant wife!

Somebody has to be held responsible for this, i cant be the only one to loose.
