Nedbank false accusations and bad attitude
Yesterday I was phoned on my work number by a Nedbank employee. When I answered the phone the woman was very arrogant immediately asking me how I can answer if I am not working at this moment. I told her that I never told Nedbank that I was not working and I was actually working on reduced time. She then told me I was lying and that I told Nedbank I was not working. She then contradicted herself and told me it was 'obvious' that I wasn't working because I am making minimum payment. I responded that she should refrain from making the statement that it is obvious as it is not her place to make assumptions. She then retracted and explicitly told me that I was lying and that I told Nedbank that I was not working. I responded that I haven't spoken to Nedbank in months - before the lockdown even. She then continued telling me I was lying. I then hung up the phone. Firstly I do not appreciated Nedbank phoning me on my work phone - I have asked numerous times that my privacy should be respected and that I do not take personal calls on my work phone. Nedbank wants me to honour them in making payments but they refuse to honour my wishes of privacy. Secondly I do not appreciate false accusations telling my I am a **** when this is not true at all and thus I am not the party lying in this situation. I do not take these false accusations lightly and will follow this up with legal steps. Even though I am not a Nedbank client anymore and only owe them money I think such behaviour and actions is unacceptable. Based on these actions by Nedbank I am more than thankful that I do not bank with Nedbank anymore. I hope this will serve as a caution for other customers considering moving to Nedbank or make use of Nedbank for any banking needs. I have never in my 30years came across a supplier/bank treating me like that.
