Nedbank employee *******

This letter serves as an opinion on how nedbank as a whole cares for its staff. My friend is a Nedbank employee who has been with the bank for 20 long years. She dedicated those years to further her career in this institution to better her circumstances and income as she provides for two children whom one is still in high school and second started varsity.

Nedbank through their schemes of putting shareholders and striking deals with companies first, thought it is best to make medical aid compulsory to all their staff. In this economy, this time in our country, a single parent must pay R6300 on medical aid ,which is literally half her salary. Medical aid which is just to costly to afford. How can a single parent, afford R6300, half the salary, which the bank forced staff to take, obviously inflating discovery"s bottom line and Nedbank"s from their own staff. Its of NO USE approaching their union sasbo as they DO NOT fight for the staff that pays their monthly fee, another *******. Seriously, this needs to be looked at as how many people, families, single parents are out there who work for this money hungry financial institution, who just may or may not have been implicated in state capture, must STRUGGLE ,and are forced to live from week to week, not being able to prosper financially. Nedbank is forcing their staff backwards, working for a financial institution suppose to have positive benefits, not more cons than pros.
