Nedbank easily believes Godaddy's lies
After sending proof of Godaddy's ******* deduction in January 2026, lodge a complaint to Nedbank, in less than a week my money was transferred back to my account in February 2026.
I took an Godaddy email subscription only in May 2026, cancelled the subscription the same day and was said a refund would be in 7 days. When the 7 days were down, Godaddy **** to Nedbank and said I took out a subscription in January 2026 (the same day I lodge a complaint of their ******* deduction. I sent proof to Nedbank of me cancelling the May 2026 subscription as well as other proof.
This was Phindile Dolly Nzimande, Client Service Manager at Nedbank response after all the proof/evidence I sent which put Godaddy's lies down:
We appreciate your patience regarding this matter and apologise for the delayed response.
Based on the information received, the dispute concerns a refund for a subscription that was purchased using your card. As the transaction was authorised and processed by the merchant, the bank is unable to cancel the subscription or force a refund on the merchant's behalf.
Our investigation confirmed that the disputed transaction relates to a subscription service with GoDaddy.
Card transactions of this nature are governed by the agreement between the cardholder and the merchant, and the merchant is responsible for managing cancellations, refunds, and subscription settings.
We recommend that you continue to engage directly with GoDaddy and request written confirmation of the subscription cancellation and the status of the refund. Should the merchant confirm that a refund has been processed, but it does not reflect in your account after the prescribed period, you may provide us with the confirmation for further review.
Please note that the cardholder is responsible for cancelling recurring subscriptions directly with the merchant to prevent any future charges.
We are not able to take this matter any further and trust that the above clarifies the bank's position.
We apologise for the unpleasant experience and any inconvenience caused.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
This Phindile that says if I need assistance I must let her know but she don't open emails for almost a month, if not a month. A person ask your bank to help get your money back from dishonest merchants then this is the treatment and the way Nedbank do things. The amount was only R372.60 and they needed a team to investigate and with no results. What if this was R37200.60? This bank will let you lose money and deem it as business as usual.
I am just waiting for some serious business coming through for me, I WILL CLOSE MY NEDBANK ACCOUNT WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. I don't even use the account for big transactions, I don't even use it at all and not even bothered to collect an ATM card on this account.
