Nedbank Doesn't Care About The Health And Safety Of Its Clients Or The Public!
I managed to lock myself out of my account when I tried to log in to the Money app using my fingerprint. After calling the call centre 3 times and also speaking to my account manager, they all insisted that I come in to the branch to unlock my account, despite the fact that a lockdown is in effect.
They kept insisting they are one of the essential services and that I MUST therefore come in.
I pointed out that since I didn't need CASH and that they have multiple ways to ID me from the fingerprint scanner on my phone to the voice print ID they use on phone calls, plus the 3 security questions, sending OTPs and messages to your phone, there was no reason for me to physically visit the bank.
They have refused to budge. I personally see this as highly irresponsible and arrogant. It's attitudes like this that help spread the virus by insisting people stand in queues at the bank in the middle of a national crises.
Besides this review, I also plan to contact my local Member of Parliament and lodge an official complaint with them, as well as the Minister of Health.
Nedbank's insistence on applying such a stupid policy, a policy which obviously flaunts government measures to control the virus is wicked, especially when the bank is able to (and has) identified me multiple different ways, all of which are secure.
