Nedbank does not care about it clients. They only care about the huge amounts of profit they get from us.
1). I opened an account with Nedbank in 2013. At that time I was earning a significantly small salary, so I was advised to open a Kiyona account.
I eventually got new employment and was promoted a couple of times in the past 3 years, therefore my salary was exponentially increased.
The Kiyona account charges fees on every transaction the client does which I was never advised of and which I recently found out by myself.
Now I am trying to change my account to a more suitable account but Nedbank is making it hard for me. I have previously submitted 3 proof of residence to this bank however I was informed that the bank doesn’t have my proof residence I.e it a pre requisite to provide your proof of residence when you apply for a credit card, which I app**** and was given to me but still Nedbank claims they don’t have my proof of address.
When I finally came down, and went back to the bank with my proof of residence, I was advised I need my pay slip to change my account to the account I wanted, which I was never told before. So I lowered my standards and requested for another account which, now they tell me, doesn’t need a pay slip to do. So I ask them to create this account for me and they now tell me i will get a new account number and will have to re-do my debit orders with each credit providers I owe, they won’t help with that.
If Nedbank communicated with me and told me from the get go what I’ll need and why Ill need it I would have saved myself a lot of stress and money. Now I’m stuck with an account that cost me a lot of money.
2) I took a loan with Nedbank and I was paying extra on that loan every month on top of the installment. After a year and half, Nedbank returned my extra payments without my knowledge and I was charged more interest on my loan. I’ve queried this with Nedbank bank for more then a year now and no one can explain to me why. They all acting as if I’m being crazy if I ask such a thing yet the reversal is showing on the loan statement.
