Nedbank Debit Order Failed, Caused Payments To Fail...Account In Arrears

Good Morning,

On the 16.09.2018 @10:28am (Sunday) my wife and i went into your Greenstone branch to set up a weekly debit order for payment of our Compeg account, which will go off on the 21.09.2018 (Friday) the first payment. It was captured by salary number 209443. We were not aware of the fact that the debit order was not properly set up and that the money was not being paid to Compeg, we are now receiving letters to make payment of levies. 6 payments have being missed x R500 (Debit order) = R3000.00

On the 16.09.2018 my wife noticed that the dates were not correct after checking my copy of my form so we walked back into the bank and asked the lady ,and the employee informed us that the dates were fine. On the 28.10.2018 we waited over half an hour to be assisted, (knowing full well we were back due to the employees error) keep in mind, the bank was not very busy. When the same employee was told of the mistake she slammed her mouse on the desk, her attitude was very disturbing, later when i told her i would take it up with the head office she decided to apologize. Why did she not start the conversation of with an apology?

I would like compensation for this error and inconvenience as i can not afford to now pay R3000.00 up front to Compeg. Compeg is now disconnecting my electricity due to non payment. I would now like to be compensated for the loss which i am currently suffering due your employees error or system.

I have received a call from a Nedbank Representative who was supposed to call me back and to date has yet to do so. I will make contact with the Ombudsman as i have already tried to make contact with Nedbank.

Thank you

Kind regards, Jeraine R Pillay **********
