Nedbank

In 2020 I lost my job and one of the first things I did was go to my closest Nedbank brunch and spoke with a consultant. I gave them a copy of my retrenchment forms on 15 December 2020. Those forms were faxed off to the Nedbank Loans department in Johannesburg. I agreed to pay a lower instalment rate. And during my first year of retrenchment I paid my Nedbank loan with my un-employment money.

However, after a year I no longer receive un-employment money from the government. And am still struggling to find employment- even a job at Shoprite (my application was unsuccessful). I spoke to Nedbank loan consultants who bul**** me into agreeing to pay at least R500 instalment. I have no income (which I explained many, many times to them and the consultants ignore this). Fast forward this day after many attempts to speak to a Nedbank consultant who will actually LISTEN and have EMPATHY. Is proving to be impossible.

I received and sms saying that I will be getting a summons to reposes any value items. I tried calling the *** number. It rang and the call ended. I do not have money to buy airtime. I tried going to the Nedbank brunch at Parow mall and was asked to leave and instead call the 086 number. Because they only assisted those who were urgent. So my attempt to speak to a consultant regarding my current state of affairs wasn't urgent?? I wrote a review on the Nedbank Parow website and Nedbank got someone to contact me. All it was, was Nedbank's damage control team who really had no interest in resolving my issue at all was all. Am disgusted and beyond irritated with Nedbank. They act as though they pandemic didn’t have a profound effect on the lives of people in South Africa. I want to speak to a consultant that UNDERSTAND'S that the job market in South Africa is tough. And hard. Am trying my best to find employment and the added stress from Nedbank Loan is not helping at all. I want to resolve this issue and I want to physically speak to someone from Nedbank in person – NOT OVER THE PHONE!!!
