Nedbank credit insurance debt review

Im paying for credit insurance for the past 5 years now, R283 per month. Now that i claim for retrenchment, they tell me that because i am under debt review, i dont qualify because in under debt review. But what is the need to pay for the insurance if its not going to work. This is as if nedbank is punishing me for debt review, 283.45x60 months
