Nedbank Credit Card replacement & other Issues
Extremely frustrating experience with Nedbank.
My Credit cards were due to expire at the end of May 2020. I was contacted by the bank and asked where I wanted them delivered. My closest branch is / was Broadacres, so I requested that they be delivered there. Unbeknown to me that branch has since closed unfortunately. I then recieved a message that my cards have been delivered to the Nedbank (Boulders) branch and are ready for collection. 1. Why in God's name, and for what reason would they be delivered to Midrand when I live nowhere near there, and originally requested them to be delivered to Broadacres? 2. It was lockdown L5 and I did not have a travel permit to go to Midrand.
I also had some other un-related banking queries and was told that they could not be resolved over the phone and needed to visit my branch. My closest branch is Cradlestone, but being closed due to lockdown, the next closest is Key West in Krugersdorp. I visited this branch (after waiting for 2 hours in a queue), and spending close on another hour inside the branch. The very friendly lady (Tebogo) who assisted me resolved my one issue, and apparently re-ordered my credit cards to be delivered to the Key West branch (Wed ***0) and informed me that I would be contacted within the next 3-4 days to collect my cards. I am still waiting for this confirmation. Yesterday (***0) I contacted card division to find out what was going on, only to be told again that my cards were ready for collection at Nedbank Midrand??? The lady that then assisted me - again very friendly (Lonwabo) assured me that my cards were actually re-ordered by Tebogo to be sent to Key West but there was no record of them. She then told me that she had cancelled the cards sent to midrand and would contact me today (***0) to let me know what was happening. I am still waiting??
And to cap it all, I went to the shop to get some essentials yesterday afternoon and found that I now couldn't pay ("do Not Honour" message) with my not yet expired credit card. very embarrassing to say the least, luckily I did have other means at my disposal to pay, but what if I didnt?
The one other issue that I have is that I have a pre-paid card used for emergencies, should my children ever need money in a hurry. This card expired in February, and nobody to this day at Nedbank can tell me how I can access or even transfer these funds to another account??
After being a loyal Nedbank customer for over 30 years with an exemplary record I am very disappointed to say the least. I doubt that I will be a Nedbank client for much longer,
I hope that someone from Nedbank with the authority to assist will contact me to resolve my issues. after all, I'm only asking to be able to access and be able to purchase with MY own money??????
I have found that my over-all experiences with Nedank are becoming more and more unpleasant as time goes on. I even gave up on getting a replacement card for my cheque account 2 years ago due to the incompetence I experienced with that too at the time.
