Nedbank Credit card division refuses to reverse ******* debit

We have all purchased goods and services online and provide our credit card details and the three digit cdv number in the good faith that our Credit Card provider will give us protection from unsolicited debits and **** operators. To refuse to provide the above-mentioned details would put online retailer out of business. I accepted an offer for a free trial of a slimming tablet with no obligations only to pay for the shipping. Prior to receiving the goods the supplier stated that I had now been added to their database and would be receiving further deliveries of said goods at R 1024 and R 1075 Monthly. I wrote back to the supplier ,PRIOR to receipt of the goods copying statements from their e-mail, and stated that I did not want the automatic inclusion of their products. This is a US company based in Wyoming. However I was debited but I thought I was with a reputable institution i.e Nedbank Credit Card division and that, as I had not contracted for the goods, it was a simple matter of having the debit returned. Not at all, not unless you are with a reputable credit card provider which Nedbank definitely does not fall into that category. I sent them proof of the e-mail I sent to the supplier, I told them that I had not received the goods and to date still have not but unfortunately they informed me that they cannot reverse a totally ******* debit. Can you imagine if those companies that you purchase from suddenly, without your acceptance, started delivering your last grocery purchase monthly and your credit card provider just said ' well tough luck take it up with the supplier in Wyoming USA'. I am sure that all respectable, honest credit card service provider's would at least do a preliminary investigation where they request the product/service provider for proof of my 'purchase' but Nedbank won't. They expect me to do their job for them. If I can give anyone advice out there, use another credit card provider. Someone that has some integrity and puts it's client first before ********** ********s. I am taking the matter to the Banking ombudsman and the National Credit regulator. I don't now who is the greater *****, the ********** debitor or Nedbank who takes their cut and leave us to the dogs.

I would like to thank Nicholas Govender of Nedbank for the professional way in which the matter was resolved and the swiftness with which my account was credited. Thank you Nicholas and Nedbank for the promptness and professional manner in which the matter was handled once the merchant was found to be bogus.
