Nedbank credit card division

I saw a lot of bad reviews and comments on social media regarding Nedbank but I thought I'd give it a try anyway but I'm regretting my decision.

I app**** for a credit card online and was contacted by a consultant who was by the way a huge help even after I was approved. Anyway a day or two later I was sent an email with details to my insurance and so on, only then I knew I was actually approved.

Almost 2 weeks went by and I sent an email to contact centre asking status of my card and delivery date, no reply so I left it

Another 2 weeks later and after kicking up a storm, threatening to go to Hello Peter and social media the consultant that helped me with the application immediately phoned me and tried to help. He confirmed that card has been ready for a while and they waiting to phone me for delivery but what was the hold up then????. Great so I felt something was eventually happening.

And to my disappointment another almost 2 weeks went by and I complained again so now they call to ask where card must be delivered, a few days later after mixing up the date of delivery I got my card.

Been using it a bit and left it alone so I can pay it first before using it just to be disappointed again that my card does not work when I needed it 2 weeks ago.

I was dumb struck as to the reason, as a new client to Nedbank how was I supposed to know that I need to do a FIKA in a certain amount of days from receiving card??? So card was blocked by bank and I had to go in to a branch and do FIKA where I was told card will be active again withing 24hrs..... that was on Monday the 17th May

2 days later I went to Atm just for the machine to keep spitting card out, again its me and the call centre on the app where I was told card shows active and should work but again it spits card out.

On Friday the 21st May I contacted again and was told card should work as it shows active but was then told to go to the nearest branch and have my pin changed in branch.

So today the 24th May I was in branch and was told there is a block on card and will need to replace the card. It will take 3 to 5 working days the lady said and I will need to pay for the card. At that stage I started losing my cool and said to her its a brand new card so why must I pay for a new one when I'm not at fault. I was then advised she can reverse the fee once card is here so guess what.... I need to loose more working time to come in to a branch and fix their mess.

At that stage I asked her to just cancel the card as its useless anyway and I will pay up card and close account.

Now I can see why so many people are complaining about Nedbank cause it is for valid reasons.

I am not upset with the people that was so willing to assist but why must the customer always be inconvenienced so badly and still pay for their mistakes.

So my advise to anyone looking at Nedbank is think hard about it before opening anything there and to think I was about to move my salary over to them as well!!!! Thank goodness I came to my senses early enough!!!!
