Nedbank Credit Card - Cold and Unsympathetic to clients post Covid-19
Being one of the many self-employed people affected during Covid and post Covid-19, so much so that I had to sell of my primary home to recover from the utilising all of my savings and credit facilities that was available. The financial difficulty became immense, being the breadwinner of the family with two dependants, we had no choice but to sell of our home. As much as I made payment arrangements with Nedbank, I was eventually handed over and listed with Credit Bureau by Nedbank Credit Card. Upon selling my home I contacted Nedbank Credit Card and spoke to Tamsin to possibly assist with a settlement discount on my Credit Card balance, being the responsible thing to do. I was informed by Tamsin c/o Nedbank Credit Card that my account was been handed over Trevor Jaggard attorney's for collection, and they will be able to assist me with a settlement discount on my credit card balance. I immediately called Trevor Jaggard attorneys and spoke to their collection dept. Michelle Fourie. I introduced myself and explained my situation to Ms Fourie, she then requested my cellphone number, and immediately thereafter informed me that Nedbank is unable to offer me a settlement discount at this point in time. Firstly this was contradictory to what I was informed by Tamsin c/o Nedbank Credit Card, and further to Ms Fourie c/o Trevor Jaggard statement "not at this point in time". I have to ask the question, is this all a game to Nedbank and their attorneys, does Nedbank even realise that that they are playing with peoples livehoods, and also at what point in time does Nedbank Credit Card assist their clients with a settlement discount? This is really cold and unsympathetic of Nedbank to treat their financially affected clients in this way, having been with Nedbank for approximately 30 years.
