Nedbank Credit Card Arrogance and Lack of Common Sense
This is for the Nedbank Credit Card division and needs to be brought to their attention.
To give you a quick understanding of the situation, below is a summary:
1) I have been a Nedbank client in the professional services area for 5 years. 2) I have a bond and vehicle installment with Nedbank; I had a personal loan which was paid off and closed earlier this year. 3) About 7 years ago I had some financial difficulties and underwent a process whereby I was rehabilitated in 2015. 4) Post this status, I have not had any issues in getting any lending,
More than 2 weeks ago I submitted an application for a credit card with Nedbank since they are my bank and I was looking to be a loyal customer. An initial decline was given as I believe the credit card area declined based on the rehabilitated status showing on my profile, despite everything else being clear on my profile and that I am still working and receiving a full salary.
My banker submitted an appeal and escalated the matter for motivation post this and this went on for 2 weeks, where no urgency was no shown in the credit card department coming back to take up the escalation.
This week after I the client followed up for the 3rd time, I was told the credit card department would not proceed based on this status issue.
So what really concerns me is that being a long serving client who is coming to the bank for new business, no consideration was made of this and nor is there any remorse where I have said I will look to another bank to assist me with this (and thereby Nedbank loses this business).
Is the bank not concerned at all that a loyal customer has not been assisted despite having everything clear and wanting the bank to give him this business? I am really disappointed in this and what concerns me is the belief that I would come back at a later stage looking for a credit card with the bank. In fact I am hesitant to look to Nedbank for any other business in future.
My Banker was not able to do anything further. The Banker was not at fault here.
How can this matter be investigated and looked into so it can be overturned by someone senior in the department? I would like a senior person to contact me on this matter.
