Nedbank Credit Card Application - Disappointment

I app**** for a credit card yesterday and was approved for a limit of R10K. This morning I followed up on the application as I have not been contacted after receiving the approval.

Nedbank did another application this morning (even though all required documentation was emailed yesterday) and the application was declined - I don't understand how the application is now declined; my credit score has now been affected by the 2 enquiries they did.

I'd like an explanation on why yesterday's application was never carried through after it was approved. Ref FI***.
