NEDBANK CLOSE TO THEFT

I transferred a substantial amount of money into an account that I had with Nedbank. The funds were to be used to purchase a new vehicle. The bank accepted the deposit but then refused to realease the funds to me because they had declared the account dormant, without notice to me. My relationship banker (sic) told me and my wife to visit the nearest branch of Nedbank with our ID books, so that they could take our fingerprints. This we did. Then they wanted proof of residence. Another trip. Then they wouldn't accept an e-mail print out of the POR so we forwarded the e-mail municipal account. Then they wanted another form filled in. Another trip. Then they called for copies of our ID, despite them having the originals in their hands a few days prior. It is a fact that the bank is already in possession of all the documents and fingerprints that they are re-demanding. They seem to take a delight in inconveniencing therr customers as much as possible. Meanwhile, they are scoring interest on my money at the rate of about R750 per month. This may not be ***** or theft, but it is certainly very close to it, in my view.
