Nedbank blames client for their compromised card security systems.
I recently reported a *****ulent transaction on my business account to Nedbank's ***** division. This is the first time in well over thirty years of the account's history that anything like this has occurred and I reported it the moment it appeared on my statement. The transaction at Vuyo's Lounge in Soweto, for exactly R2000.00 sticks out clearly from all other strictly business-related transactions, but Nedbank has chosen to blame me for negligently allowing my PIN code to be compromised. Stating in both their first and subsequent email that " From the information you gave us, we gather that your PIN was compromised " This is a totally inaccurate response. (Their recording of my telephonic complaint will bear this out) At no time has my card been out of my possession, nor have I ever given my PIN to anyone. After my initial complaint, it took five weeks and several emails on my part to elicit a response from their ***** division, who to this day have not provided any proof that this case was ever investigated, instead suggesting to me that I report the case to the SAP for investigation. This is totally unacceptable treatment and to say I'm disappointed is an understatement.
