Nedbank ATM seals itself with your cards and money

At the Caltex on Christiaan De Wet in Randburg, there is a Nedbank ATM. I went to draw cash and while in the middle of the transaction the machine extended from the bottom and the top thick metal plates effectively ending any session until the atm opens again. Well what a shock! I nearly lost some fingers in the process of removing my hand from the keypad in time before the thick iron plates slammed together. I went into the store to enquire "What the heck!"the teller said that it happens often and now my card is gone. and I must apply for a new one. NEDBANK - When you decided to add this security feature did you even consider that someone may be using it at that time? Or perhaps it crossed your mind to notify people using the machine whats happening and to give them time to end their current transaction.

All I can say to the public is stay away from that machine. its not safe for public use and it is hungry for cards.

It was a totally inconvenient evening leaving myself and the garage attendants out of pocket.

if it didn't happen to me, I wouldn't have believed it possible.
