Nedbank atm cash deposit incompetence

I made a cash deposit into my account using my debit card at an atm on the 25th of march 2020 a 16:55.The money still hasn't reflected on my account on the 26th of March 2020 at 15:24.When i called nedbank customer care line i was told the money will take 24 hours to reflect on my account even though i deposited cash.wWhhat i do not understand is why does a cash deposit done on their atm (which they encourage us to do) take 24 hours to reflect. The customer care assistant said the deposit reflects on my statement but the money is not available.
