Nedbank as bad as Home Affairs.

I queried today a R185 Maintenance charge on my bank account. After a few hours I was told that it is because my card is "personalised"-has my NAME on it. At no point in my life have I gone into a bank asking for a personalised card with my name on it. They obviously decided at some point to give me one not saying I would have to pay R185 for it. They told me some years ago to put R10,000 into an account which would take away any fees. I did that. It appears not to matter. I saw on the news the other day that banks have the same reputations as Home Affairs, Motor Vehicle Lic Dept and others. Dealing with them is just as stressful as those Govt Depts. The lady at the bank today said if I go to a bank and swap that "personalised" card for an ordinary card I would avoid future maintenance fees of R185, but no doubt incur other charges-like a " new" card fee which would defeat the object. Whatever you think-don't believe that banks are working for you, because they are not. Nedbank used to have a good reputation-not anymore.
