Nedbank admit hail damage, but still rejected our claim over technicality
Nedbank Insurance – Admitted hail damage rejected over technicality – C***
The Review: I am writing this to express my absolute frustration with Nedbank Insurance. We have received a final rejection for our claim, and the reasoning is a blatant attempt to avoid liability for clear storm damage.
In their own assessment report, the bank explicitly states: “THE ROOF HOWEVER, CLEARLY SUSTAINED IMPACT DAMAGE FROM THE HAILSTONES AND ALL THE ROOF SHEETS REQUIRE REPLACEMENT.”
Despite admitting that a natural disaster (hail) destroyed our roof and damaged our ceilings, they are rejecting the claim based on "defective workmanship" and "roof pitch" regulations. They are blaming a contractor from a previous claim for the current leaks, while ignoring the fact that the hailstones—not the workmanship—physically destroyed the current structures and internal knotty pine ceilings.
The bank is hiding behind "Page 26 General Exclusions" to leave us with a destroyed home, despite us paying our premiums in good faith. It is unacceptable to acknowledge the impact damage and then refuse to cover it.
