Nedbank - account closure will cost you money and frustration

...Nedbank is more interested in squeezing the last bit out of you as long as possible... even for a ZAR 2,50 service fee! They are not interested if it will cost you more to pay a service fee ZAR 2,50 as long as you pay it - that is customer service for you! I got informed by Nedbank that my account will be closed because it is dormant. There still was a fair amount of cash in the accounts and I therefore cleared my accounts and contacted them on Monday to close them, I was notified that not all the money was cleared, so they couldn't close my accounts. I found that comment a bit strange as the money was already shown in my counter bank account. Tuesday morning, I tried again, but it seems that overnight I went into a debt of ZAR 2,50 for a service fee. Because I am in debt, they cannot close the account, and I need to go into the branch to close the account. I have spoken to three different persons but non seem to understand the logic that ZAR 2,50 doesn't cover the cost of my petrol, the conversations and time spent holding on the line, I was politely informed that if I didn't pay my credit rating would go for a loop... I ask you...what type of comment is that? Sounded a bit like *********. My advice is - don't bank with Nedbank, unless you like to be chained to them for life.
