Nedbank account cleaned out - inside job?

If you have a Nedbank account - beware!

On 1 March "Nedbank" phoned me, reporting a possible ********** transaction on my account by Takealot. I confirmed that I haven't done any transactions with Takealot lately and was transferred to the Nedbank ***** Division. As with all banking calls, you have to confirm your ID number. I did not provide my PIN I did not provide my account number I did not provide my password "Nedbank" provided a system generated pass code to 'secure' my account. In hindsight - it was clear that they already had access on my account - they just needed control via the Money app.

When I noticed 1.5hrs later that the balance in my account is incorrect, I could no longer stop my card (function was disabled). My credit card and current account was cleaned out. I then noticed an sms advising that I've stopped sms notifications which explains why I did not pickup on transactions going through my account.

When I phoned the "real" Nedbank to report it, the exact same procedures/process was followed as did the initial call from Ned bank to report the alleged ***** transaction by Takelot.

Nedbank opened a ***** case (***4), but since then I have not heard from Nedbank. Nedbank did not put a notice on their system either, against my account, that there is an active/open ***** case. They are, however, quick to send text messages asking me to promise to make a payment on my credit account - which is now a payment on the full amount of the credit card. On 14 March I've received a call from Nedbank Collections - *** - registering Nedbank on my phone's caller ID, but when I phone the number it does not ring, only jumps to an MTN message screen. It seems there is still someone out there with access on my bank account and now posing as Nedbank Collections to get even more money.

When I uninstalled the Money App twice because it doesn't work - despite Nedbank setting up a new card inside the bank - someone from Nedbank was quick to call. She wanted to help to setup the Money app again by providing a new password, etc. When I asked her to proof she is indeed from Nedbank, the lady was rather offended. I declined her offer. Was this also a *******?

I now have no access on my bank account and I have no idea what transactions are being conducted on my account. This might result in an overdraft which I don't have but if whoever still has access on my account, they could even change that.

I've sent several emails to Nedbank ***** division. No-one from Nedbank rep****; No-one from Nedbank even bother to call to give me an update. .
