Nedbank

According to Nedbank I have an outstanding loan that was settled and on their system shows as closed in 2014. I have asked them to send me the "outstanding" statement which I have still not received. I was unable to take out a cellphone contract recently and suspect that this might be the reason. Since applying for a loan, now apparently it shows that they have tried to contact me recently.... after 8 years. WHY?
