Nebank not lifting a life insurance policy even though have not had aan account with them since the 1997.

In about 1997, I took out a loan/overdraft with Nedbank. My Liberty policy was seeded against the overdraft. The loan/overdraft q was settled in 1997. I subsequently closed my account and have NO accounts with Nedbank. I currently bank with FNB. Although I have no accounts/bonds/overdrafts with Nedbank, they now will not lift the session before I do not supply them with a current salary slip and a copy of my FNB statement. My private banker at FNB advised me that this is not in order as, not only is my bank account details and payslip private, I have no accounts with Nedbank and therefore my salary slip and copy of my FNB statement not relevant.

What is the thinking around this? It sold not make sense. They can find no record of any bank accounts with Nedbank.

I would suggest to anyone not to deal with Nebank in this capacity. Sandra Pienaar
