Mystery Credit Card Charges

Good day

I use my Nedbank credit card for basically only online shopping. The limit is set to R5000 and the minute I use it online, I clear the negative balance immediately from my current account.

So, my credit card always shows a R0.00 balance.

I received a mystery R21 charge to my card in November 2016. I queried this with my “personal relationship banker” who rep**** to me on the 24th November 2016 with:

“You have a life protection called Balance Protection Insurance which is debited to account in case of death and balance outstanding on account”

I rep**** on the 27th of November 2016 that I keep my balance at R0.00 all the time, and that I have never asked for this “Balance Protection Insurance”. This was never charged in all the years I have had a credit card. I asked for this “Balance Protection Insurance” charge to be reversed and the “Balance Protection Insurance” to be cancelled.

On the 28th November 2016, the personal relationship banker mailed the “service” email and asked for this charge to be reversed as well as the “Balance Protection Insurance” to be cancelled from my credit card.

To date I have not cleared this R21 as well as the resulting interest, charges etc.

Just like the last time I had trouble with mystery credit card charges, I seem to only get action once I post my complaint on HELLOPETER.

Regards

Danny Peschke
