My Small Business Can't Trade – Nedbank Withholding Card Payments
I am a small business owner operating a cotton candy machine that uses a NAYAX terminal to process card payments. My machine traded normally on 27, 30, and 31 May, and 1 June 2025. Funds from these dates were meant to reflect in my FNB bank account within 24–48 hours via a processing chain that involves Travelbuy, Nayax, and Nedbank.
As of 4 June, these funds have not been deposited. I logged a complaint with Nedbank (Incident No. ***8) and was promised a resolution call on the morning of 4 June, which did not happen. I had to call back at 10:27 only to be asked for a bank statement — without prior communication or follow-up.
This delay has caused serious financial hardship as I cannot purchase stock or continue trading. My business depends on these daily transactions, and this failure to process payments has negatively impacted my operations.
I request hellopeter intervention for:
Immediate release of the owed funds
Investigation into the delay and accountability
A formal apology and explanation from Nedbank
