My current account was handed over without my knowledge or fair process followed
I am raising a concern on how my current was handled and referred to legal without any form of communication received from the current account collections, I received an SMS on Friday the 05.09.2025 at 15.57 advising me that my account is handed over for legal action. I immediately contacted the attorney to confirm if this was true and he confirmed that all is correct, but I was not satisfied, and I then asked the reason for the hand over he referred me back to my bank. At 16:16 I managed to get to several departments within Nedbank needing further information with regards to the account hand over I was assured that my account is not handed over and not flagged yet. This Morning I phoned back the attorney to feedback to him about what was discussed with my bank, He listened and advised me to call my bank again to verify that and he will do same from his side.
To cut the activities short, I requested proof of communication from the bank and Tshepiso from Current Account collections told me that they attempted to get hold of me on the 26.08.2025 to no avail, I checked my call records, and I can confirm that I don’t have any form of communication either via SMS / call from your side, adding to that I made a transfer on the very day without receiving my call.
All I need is proof of communication, be it in a form of email, SMS or call recording. I am still using this account. I have monies that I transferred into the account during the month of Aug, All I am asking for is fair treatment before hand over, if trace alert was initiated due to be unable to get hold of me in any form.
Please do treat me fair and if you needed to cancel my overdraft that should have been communicated with me prior, there was never a time I ignored my calls especially coming from My bank because I know the importance of making necessary arrangement and communicate if the need arise.
